Arbutus honey (also known as “strawberry tree honey” due to the fruit found on the plant) is a favourite in Greece. A rare honey due to the plant blossoming late in the year. It is famous for its unusual taste and boasts one of the highest antioxidant counts in the honey world.

Initially sweet with a hint of pine cutting through, followed by a surprising bitter aftertaste similar to ground coffee or dark chocolate. It is dark amber in colour, with a strong yet amiable aroma. This honey pairs well with almost all Mediterranean dishes and cheeses. This is one for the honey connoisseur’s collection!
