25% of the worlds botanical foods are available from Africa, yet only 1% are utilised. It was with this notion I was inspired to take a trip to the motherland to find a way to connect the produce of Ethiopia to customers around the world. This journey however started in the 1950’s when my grandfather became the first director of aviation for Ethiopian Airlines and alongside my grandmother, owned a coffee plantation in Gera, Kefa provenience in the 60’s. Our long-term goal is to create a supply chain from seed to mouth and have a positive impact on the local economy.
