Recipe 1: Crispy Roast Désirée Potatoes

Ingredients:
1kg Désirée potatoes, peeled and chopped into chunks
4 tbsp olive oil
2 cloves garlic, smashed
1 tbsp fresh rosemary, chopped
Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions:
Preheat the oven to 200°C.
Parboil the potato chunks in salted water for 10 minutes. Drain well.
Heat the olive oil on a baking tray in the oven for 5 minutes.
Toss the potatoes in the hot oil, garlic, and rosemary. Season with salt and pepper.
Roast for 40-50 minutes, turning occasionally, until golden and crispy. Serve hot.
Recipe 2: Désirée Potato and Leek Soup

Large pot
Blender or immersion blender
Wooden spoon
Ingredients:
500g Désirée potatoes, peeled and diced
2 leeks, chopped
1 onion, diced
2 cloves garlic, minced
4 cups vegetable stock
1 tbsp butter
1/2 cup cream (optional)
Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions:
In a large pot, melt butter over medium heat. Sauté onions, garlic, and leeks until softened.
Add the diced potatoes and vegetable stock. Bring to a boil, then reduce to a simmer for 20 minutes until the potatoes are tender.
Use a blender or immersion blender to blend the soup until smooth.
Stir in cream (if using) and season with salt and pepper. Serve hot with bread.
